Philosophy

My work has been composed of elements drawn from various sources, and without any mandate to follow or promote a formal style, scheme or fashion. Restricting myself to traditional architectural forms in American buildings and most importantly the New England region, has allowed me to stand between the past and present with a glance to the possibilities of the future. I think it is the architect’s job and profession to sort this all out each time anew, and simultaneously as a part of a continuum. I try to make order in a chaotic world.

Today I wish to continue, but in limited way. I wish to do small buildings like some of the ones shown on my project page. On all but one of these, the structural design on the “Three Little Sisters”, I did everything, (not that didn’t have the assistance of a partner or draftsman in a couple of them) architecture, structural, electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, daylighting and acoustical.

So, I if you need a storage shed, garden shed, garage, granny flat, very small house, boat house, maintenance shed, pavilion, restroom, baseball facility or something similar I would be interested.
